POSTPONED – World Pollinators
March 1 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
$10Dr. Jody Johnson; “World Pollinators”; 6:30 PM, Friday, March 1st, 2024 Location: Sherwood House at Cromwell Valley Park
Examples of pollinators are found in multiple classes of animals – bees, beetles, butterflies, flies, bats, birds, lizards, rodents, and
even large mammals. The diversity of pollinators is marvelous unto itself but even more intriguing is the mutualistic relationships
that they share with the plants they pollinate. Communication between the plant and animal species is readily apparent through evolutionary adaptations of both participants, as can be seen by the flower design, orientation in space, and nectar ingredients in the plants and the tongue,
nose, beak, and hairiness of the animals. This subject provides many “aha” moments on symbiosis for those of us who spend our lives learning about nature. AGES 18+ $10 PER PERSON INCLUDES DRINKS AND DESSERTS
