SUMMARY:Slow and Mindful Birding - Migration Time
DESCRIPTION:Monday\, September 7th – Slow-birding for Migration\n8:15 am – 10:00 am \nJoin us for the height of fall migration for a slow-paced bird walk around the Minebank Run trail looking for migratory birds. \nWhat is Mindful Birding and Who Should Attend? \nThis slow\, mindful birding and nature observation event is for beginner birdwatchers and nature lovers who want to consciously experience nature and the environment\, rather than simply counting the number of species of birds seen in 90 minutes.    We will practice mindfulness techniques while learning more about the Cromwell Valley Park “resident” birds\, their habits and how they interact with our changing ecosystems. \nWhat Will We Do? \nThis nature-based wellness program will provide a connection between you and the birds\, taking in the visual cues and markers and the sounds of the birds and other nature-based activity. \nMeeting place: We’ll begin from the Sherwood side. Cromwell Valley Park has two entrances. Please use the first entrance off Cromwell Bridge Road (if coming from the Beltway) – 2002 Cromwell Bridge Road\, Parkville\, MD 21234.  Please park on the left just after driving through the white gates\, and meet at the signage board. This will be closer to the Minebank Run for our walk. \nWhat to bring: Please wear sturdy hiking shoes and bring water and your binoculars. \nCost: $5 per person\, with all funds supporting Cromwell Valley Park Council\, Inc. \nGeneral Conditions:  \n\nRegistration for this event constitutes the acceptance of the WAIVER OF LIABILITY\nNo birders under the age of 18 (so sorry!!!)\nNo pets allowed.   Service dogs always permitted.\nNo alcohol\, tobacco nor recreational drugs allowed.\nBe courteous and respectful of all birders.   We will walk at the pace of the slowest birder.\nIf you pack it in\, you pack it out.\n\nFor more information\, please email Mia Walsh at mia@cromwellvalleypark.org.
