DESCRIPTION:Three Summer Events!    Register for one or for all! \nJoin other 30-year olds for a casual hike (2 miles) scouting for non-migratory resident birds of Cromwell Valley Park along the Minebank Run and in some of our old-growth fields.    Get your appetite whet for fall migration\, with more dates coming soon! \nCost is $5 per person with all funds supporting Cromwell Valley Park Council\, Inc.\, the 100% volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which advocates for and supports the park. \nPLEASE NOTE STARTING POINT FOR EACH DIFFERENT DATE: \nWednesday\, July 22nd from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm – 30’s and birdies and burgers and beer \nSherwood Entrance\, by the parking exit closest to the Sherwood House \nSunday\, August 2nd 8:15 am – 10:15 am  – 30’s and birdies and brunch and bloodies \nMcFaul’s Ironhorse Tavern Lower Lot \nSaturday\, August 8th – 9:00 am – 11:00 am \nSherwood Entrance \nBring your shoes (which can get wet and dirty)\, your binoculars and a camera for a 2 hour walk looking for summer residents and hopefully some of our remaining Baltimore Orioles. \nCONSIDER ENDING YOUR HIKE BY HEADING OVER TO MCFAUL’S IRON HORSE TAVERN FOR A BITE AND A DRINK!   RSVP SO WE CAN GET AN APPROPRIATELY SIZED TABLE.   Cost for drinks and dinner are on your own. \nFor more information\, please email mia@cromwellvalleypark.org \nPS:  We don’t ask for I.D. – so if you are in you’re 21+ or in your 40’s\, just come! \n \n  \n

SUMMARY:5-mile Hike the Hills
DESCRIPTION:Tuesday\, August 11th at 5:45 pm \nJoin us for an advanced-level 5 mile hike on the upper trails of Cromwell Valley Park.     Enjoy an evening  hike at a moderate pace from the Sherwood House up to highests elevation in the park and then back to the Sherwood House.     Please only register if physically able to hike ascending and descending elevation changes and through rocky and wet stream crossings.    Some refreshments will be served after the hike as part of this event. \nDistance:  5 miles\nElevation Change:  615 feet\nLevel of Difficulty: Advanced\nTime:  2 to 2.5 Hours \nMeeting place: We’ll begin from the Sherwood side. Cromwell Valley Park has two entrances. Please use the first entrance off Cromwell Bridge Road (if coming from the Beltway) – 2002 Cromwell Bridge Road\, Parkville\, MD 21234. Cromwell is undergoing construction\, and the main parking areas are closed. \nPlease followign parking signs on the left just after driving through the white gates.    We will meet at the picnic tables by the tent in front of the Sherwood House. \nCost: All funds supporting Cromwell Valley Park Council\, Inc.\n$5.00 – Existing CVPC Members\n$10.00 – Non-Members\nSpecial:  Purchase a NEW $15 individual or $20 family membership on this registration page and your hike is FREE! \nWhat to bring: Please wear sturdy hiking shoes or boots and bring at least 16 oz. of water. Hiking poles can be helpful for stream crossings. SUMMARY:Women's and Non-Binary 3.5 mile Hike
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an evening hike for women and non-binary folks.  \nWe’ll hike a loop of 4 miles at a moderate pace\, exploring the park’s beautiful woodland trails and old-growth meadows. We’ll cross a couple of streams and climb a hill or two – a nice challenge! \nThis hike is a dedicated\, welcoming space for women and non-binary folks to enjoy trails together. \nMeeting place: We’ll begin from the Sherwood side. Cromwell Valley Park has two entrances. Please use the first entrance off Cromwell Bridge Road (if coming from the Beltway) – 2002 Cromwell Bridge Road\, Parkville\, MD 21234. Cromwell is undergoing construction\, and the main parking areas are closed. Please park on the left just after driving through the white gates\, and meet at the signage board.
