Habitat Restoration Team – Weed Warrior Days!
We will remove invasive plants from the park and, in warmer weather, also plant natives and maintain restored habitat. This is a great opportunities for high school students for community service and volunteers who like to work outdoors.

Clothing: Long pants protect your legs! Please also wear closed-toe shoes, bring sunscreen, a hat, and insect repellent if desired – tools provided. Please bring a water bottle with you.
We meet at the back of the Sherwood House, 2002 Cromwell Bridge Rd, Parkville, MD 21234. From I-695 and Loch Raven High School, go about ½ mile past the school, take the first park entrance on the left to the Sherwood Farm and follow the signs to the parking lot. *Volunteer dates are cancelled in the case of heavy rains, thunderstorms, or extremely hot temperatures.
Repeat volunteers will receive:
- After 3 times – a Cromwell Valley Park Habitat Restoration hat
- After 5 times – a beautiful handbook on Native Plants for Wildlife Habitat and Conservation Landscaping: Chesapeake Bay Watershed, from the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service.
